5 Before 5 for our Darkroom

In order to get on an even keel after the expense of starting up again in a new location and bearing the brunt of COVID, we’re seeking to raise $5,000 as we head into our Fifth Anniversary year.

The Darkroom@Engine has been a wonderful asset to the community. From youth discovering an “old school” art, to people with disabilities joyfully processing their images, to professionals seeking to hone their craft with traditional processing, the darkroom has always been a place for discovery. After a short hiatus while Engine moved, the Darkroom@Engine has reopened on the second floor of Engine’s new location at 163 Main.

The relocation combined with the ongoing pandemic have caused a financial hit that we’re hoping to rectify by year’s end. From March-August, programming and memberships were put on hold. The darkroom has now cautiously re-opened allowing individuals to safely reserve private darkroom space to continue developing film and printing images during a time when so many are craving a creative outlet. Virtual and physically-distanced workshops are being developed and will be available soon.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Engine, earmarked for the DARKROOM of any amount to help the Darkroom@Engine thrive and keep film alive!

Thank you!
