The Ides of March are upon us! And we’re throwing a bash on Saturday, March 11 that’d make Julius Caesar proud. But before we get to the decadent details, let’s establish why this party is happening:
Like the city of Biddeford itself, ENGINE—the nonprofit arts organization on Main Street—ever-evolving. Today, the organization runs an art gallery, the Maine FabLab, and arts education workshops. It houses studios for artists, writers, musicians, and a full photographic darkroom. It hosts music shows, community lectures, and a new documentary film series. And (!) it’s undertaking a massive restoration of the historic Marble Block building. All proceeds from this Ides of March bash will go straight to supporting ENGINE’s projects and programs.
So, come out to Banded Horn on Saturday, March 11 to celebrate and support ENGINE. We’re aiming for Roman extravagance and entertainment!
+ FOOD & SPIRITS +
The party will include Banded Horns brews (of course!) as well as: Palace Diner fried chicken, Custom Deluxe baked beans, and Biscuits & Co., biscuits.
+ PARTY +
There will be togas and garlands and a photo booth. And, to celebrate ENGINE’s “maker” spirit, partygoers will have the chance to craft all sorts of Roman goods out of cardboard, including those most Roman of items: shields and swords. For our entertainment, partygoers will have the chance to play gladiators in epic (low-contact) battles for grand prizes and, of course, bragging rights.
