Engine will open a show by photographer Winky Lewis and ceramic artist Miles Spadone on Friday, June 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the Biddeford+Saco ArtWalk. The show will run through August 24.
Winky Lewis studied photography at Princeton University in the late 80’s and has been working as a professional photographer ever since, in Boston, NYC, and now, Portland, Maine. In addition to her professional work, Lewis’ personal work frequently includes unusual portraits of her children.
Miles Spadone grew up in Kennebunk, Maine among an artistically inclined family. His mother, once a production potter, father a practicing furniture designer and maker, and sister a ceramic Core Fellow at the Penland School of Crafts, Spadone found great influence and inspiration from both his parents and siblings. In light of his family’s accomplishments, Spadone sought his own artistic path at Gould Academy where he studied ceramics with Woody Hughes. His propensity to work with clay led him to study in Montana, Oregon and finally Maine.
Regular hours are Tuesday through Friday 1pm-6pm and Saturdays from 11am-4pm.
