New Ink” features recent works by all thirty-two members of Peregrine Press, located in Portland, Maine. The exhibition opens at Engine on March 28th during the Biddeford+Saco ArtWalk and will run through Saturday April 19, 2014.
“New Ink” includes over 100 prints and features a diverse range of printmaking techniques from chine colle to monoprint to intaglio (also known as etching). This exhibition will be the first in over two years by the group.
The exhibition will also include a special assortment of recent works by Deedee Schwartz, a beloved member of Peregrine Press and a noted Maine artist who died in March 2014.
PEREGRINE PRESS, located in Portland, Maine is one of the oldest printmaking cooperatives in New England. Founded in the neighborhood of Munjoy Hill in 1991 by a small group of artists looking to share equipment and space, Peregrine Press has grown to our current membership of 32 active and professional artist members. To date they have produced two boxed portfolios, which are currently in the permanent collections of the Portland Museum of Art, University of New England, New York Public Library, Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Farnsworth Museum of Art, and Colby College Museum of Art.
