Engine will be hosting our first Portfolio Day, inviting artists in the community to present their artwork to a panel of guest reviewers. This event supports Engine’s mission to support aspiring and early-career artists by introducing them to established artists and professionals through an approachable format. High-school art students and early-career artists interested in a review are all welcome to sign up.
Please have a serious interest in pursuing an art career or already be working in that direction. Bring a print portfolio with original work or a digital portfolio (shown on your own device) of up to 10 pieces of your best work. We recommend that you come prepared as suggested, as professionally as possible, to get the most from this experience. Doing some research on how to prepare your portfolio as a student or as a practicing artist before your appointment is advised.
Guest reviewers are Ron Crusan, curator of Ogunquit Museum of Art and practicing artist; Stephen Burt, Creative and Fine Arts Chair at the University of New England; artist Mike Libby, and University of New England drawing adjunct and artist Alex Rheault. Our invited reviewers all bring a unique expertise that we are very excited about sharing with artists.
Artists are encouraged to sign up soon to secure a space to present their portfolio. All artists, instructors, students, and supporters of the arts are invited to attend as well to meet new artists and observe.
Sessions start at 11:00am sharp. We encourage artists to bring contact info to leave with reviewers.
Reminder for high school students–National Portfolio Day in Boston will be in late October, early November. Get a head start on your portfolio preparation at Engine!
